Outpost Cockatoo Island
Last month, Dec 2011, ended a 5 week street art event on Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour, featuring an amazing selection of artists mostly from Australia but also all over the world, I was lucky enough to paint 3 projects there, 1 massive wall with Everfresh, a panel in the dogleg tunnel, and another corrugated iron archway hidden in one of the warehouses. (As well as a few mini small things for the skateboard kids mini ramps.)
It was like a camp for all types of artists, with most people staying in the tents while they install their section. I was so flat out before the opening I didnt really take any photos, so I’ve stolen some photos from various websites. In particular thanks to Tristan Stefan Edouard, James Watkins, Gourmatic and maybe some more I cant remember sorry. Many thanks to everyone working there, in particular the Ambush Gallery guys and the Harbour Trust.
If anyone wants to make a video of the Everfresh wall’s production, I have enough footage for a short online project.
This gallery is a selection of my involvement on the island,

The Island Pro Skate Comp:
I also was asked by Skateboard Australia to come back for the last weekend to paint their course, It was good to get back to the island to see what else had been created there, and this was a great job, kinda funny painting my interpretation of the harbour bridge (below) , with a badly printed photo on wet paper, while I could see the actual bridge across the water.
This gallery is some course shots, and some I’ve stolen from Skateboard Australia‘s site, cheers

Mother of Millions Art Show
All Welcome!
Mother of Millions is the name of a beautiful succulent from Africa, which is highly toxic to cattle, with the ability to spread like fire, hence the name. It is also a metaphor for the earth, and life on it, which is a current theme loosely tying the works together.
Thanks to Danny Jarquio in NY for these colourful words, as well as Mish Lockwood for the title….. and of course the sponsors who are helping out. After party Cherry Bar. ACDC Lane – Rock on
Thanks to anyone who gave me footage for this, I believe all the artwork is from 2011, Brazil , Melbourne, Adelaide, + Alice Springs.
Mother of Millions Artshow New Prints

Prints are either 38x50cm or 50cm sq. and $80 or $90, unless we are friends, ( then just call me )

Alice Springs 2011
September saw a group of artists from Melbourne up in Alice Springs for the Desert festival, thanks to Traditional Healthcare who aim to set up a clinic in Alice next year. . I painted a few walls there, met many people, saw some awesome art, amazing landscapes, many bush fires, the natural landscape highlight being Big Hole. Many thanks to Matty Day of Youth Services, Charlie, Craig Massika Itchy , Katie Hyfen, Cam, Cal, Braddock, Johnie the whiskey guy, Isla View, Sonsie, Tamika, Takeshi, Tom, Cat, Ella + Lenny. I hope to be able to revisit next year.
As I mentioned in a newsletter, there is a poll you can vote in to help Traditional Healthcare receive extra funding, if you have 10 seconds to spare, click here:

Carnaval in Armacao, Florianopolis
I was lucky enough to spend 2 months in Brazil early 2011, here are most of the walls I painted while I was there. This was my second time there of about the same length of time, and again I found the people to be very friendly, and more or less open to public murals, especially in certain areas.
The foundation of this house was taken by the ocean, so I figured no one would care if I painted it, actually some hippies were squatting in there, but they were ok once we became friends.
Sao Paulo
Many thanks to Cena 7 and Adams 165 from Sao Bernardo do Campo for the hospitality and finding many walls, and Shock + Mica for the paint over in their area. I painted the rhino in a 7 story squat house in Sao Paulo Centro,
Myself with Shock One.. find him on Flickr. He was wearing the same overalls and listening to the same hardcore metal from Australia as when we met 2 years ago… he may have an exhibition in Australia later this year…..
This Squat house or Okupa was 7 stories, and housed over 40 apartments, mostly families, so a lot of kids running around, thanks for the food and good times.
This was day 1 in Sao Paulo, using a type of can called Works, ( its equivalent in Australia of an Export can with a pink dot) but u manage….
Sao Paulo Casa de Hip Hop= Zona Loste
This is a youth house for Hip Hop culture, I was lucky enough to paint there during a party one day
Thanks to Cena 7 for helping with this image, and I never found out who painted that character by the door, after Onesto’s guy.
Rio de Janiero
This is Brazil, Football all day in the park with a band playing funk music, Rio is awesome, maybe I will be lucky enough to live there one day…. I met up with Aeon from Melbourne, and SWK a local old school graf artist and painted this wall up in Santa Teresa
The last day, hours before my flight, I found a wall on Ipanema beach, using a close by rubbish bin to stand on, some plastic moulded on top of sand to hold the roller paint, and sea water to dilute the thick latex.
Ipanema beach esplanade with Aeon
I painted this wall with Jotape of the Pax crew, but still havent gotten a proper photo without half shadow….. de me uma foto JP!
This nice spot was on top of some kind of community housing, (maybe a squat?) but they had a nice garden up there in the centre of town, muito obrigado + many thanks to Jotape, Yara, Trampo, Fernando, Nena, Guspe + the Donut Shop, Paulinho’s Salon, Legao Felipe, Thais, Gabriel+ Flavinha, Rita and everyone else in Porto Alegre!
